The British Army and Malay Police are increasingly successful in their fight against the Communists in Malaya. The scale of Communist terrorist attacks decline sharply, some Communist guerrillas give themselves up but they are still not beaten yet. General Templer returns back to Britain and is replaced as Director of Operations by Lieutenant General Bourne, a biography of him.
